Ivy Link documentation

How Ivy Link works, how to get started, and where to find each part of the dashboard, the agents and billing.

Ivy Link is a team of AI agents that work on your site's SEO. You add prepaid credits, pick a plan, and the agents start. By default they ask before they work on an idea, and each change to your site's pages and code arrives as a pull request you review. If your site has a dataset, its daily data files in data/ are committed automatically unless you change Data updates. You can change all of these in Settings > Connections.

You run everything from the dashboard at app.ivyl.ink. One credit is one dollar. Signing up starts with a payment of $10, or your plan's monthly budget if you picked a plan on Pricing.

How the loop works

  1. Checks. While your agents are on, free checks run every day. They look at your search numbers and at what keeps pages out of search. Speed tests and a crawl of your whole site come round less often, from monthly to weekly depending on your plan. None of this uses your credits. With your agents off, the checks stop too.
  2. Research. As often as your budget allows, the agents review your site: technical issues, keywords, content and data.
  3. Ideas you approve. What they find becomes ideas on Approvals. Each idea waits until you approve it, unless you set new ideas to Start without asking. On Enterprise, an SEO expert checks each idea before it reaches you.
  4. Shipped changes. With GitHub connected, approved work arrives as a pull request. You merge it on GitHub or with Merge on Results, or let Ivy Link merge it once your repo's checks pass. Without GitHub, you get a prompt on Results to paste into your own tools. If you gave Ivy Link full access in Search Console, it also sends your changed sitemaps to Google so changed pages get crawled sooner.
  5. Measured results. Pip measures each shipped change tied to a search or page 7 days and again 28 days after it ships. The results show in Done lately on Home and in the Agents feed. From 14 days after it ships, an agent can also record the before-and-after result, and its card on Results then shows Measured. See How it works. Shipped and measured work is listed under Done on Results.
  6. Weekly report. After each completed week, Ivy Link prepares a weekly report. When it's sent, you get an email, "Your weekly report for (your site) is ready". Its Read weekly report button opens your site's search activity, recent work and data updates in one place. By default a report is sent after Ivy Link reviews it. You can choose Automatically each week instead. The email goes to a verified sign-in address.

Ivy Link can't promise rankings. New pages usually get indexed within days to a few weeks. Rankings typically move over one to three months.

What you need to do

Most of the work runs without you. Your part is short:

  • Add credits on Billing.
  • Pick a plan in Settings. A budget above zero turns the agents on. Setting it to 0 turns them off.
  • Connect Search Console and GitHub under Settings > Connections.
  • Approve or drop ideas on Approvals, then merge the pull requests or paste the prompts that follow on Results.
