Report
Follow your report live while it builds, then read it, approve its priorities, switch actions on or off, copy prompts and go deeper.
The Report page at https://app.ivyl.ink/report is one page from the moment your report is queued to the moment it's released. While the report builds, it shows live progress. Once it's released, the same page shows the report itself: the headline, the numbers, the actions in priority order, and a card for getting a deeper report.
The Report link is always in the menu, including after you skip the report. Before you've built a report, it takes you to the setup steps: the first step if you haven't started setup, or the report-depth step if you skipped. To build your first one, see Build your first report.
The header
At the top of the page you see:
- Your site's address.
- The report name: Mini report, Standard report or Large report (or Site report).
- A status pill (see the states below).
- The date: Ordered while it's queued, Started while it runs, and Released once it's out. Times are in UTC.
- Once released, the link Open the full written report. It opens in a new tab. See The full written report.
While your report builds
Status
| Pill | Heading | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Queued | Waiting for a research slot | Your report starts as soon as a slot opens. | Nothing. You can leave the page; it updates by itself. |
| Building | Building your report | Ivy Link is reading your site and its searches. A line names the agent at work and what it's doing, for example "Sage is judging search demand." | Nothing. Counts update as each step finishes. |
| Paused | Paused for a quick check | Our team is checking something before your report continues. | Nothing. Nothing more is charged while it's paused. Reload the page later, or wait for the email that your report is ready. |
| Almost ready | Opening your report | All the steps are done. | Wait a minute, then reload the page. You also get an email when the report is ready. |
You don't need to keep the page open. While the report is Queued or Building, the page updates on its own and reloads when the status changes. In Paused and Almost ready it doesn't update by itself, so reload it to check. Ivy Link emails you once, when the report is ready.
On a live Enterprise site, the report stays at Almost ready until an Ivy Link SEO expert has checked it and released it to you. See Enterprise.
What you see while it runs
- This report: the depth you chose, with its Pages, PageSpeed tested, Competitors and Searches.
- Report steps: how many steps are done out of the total, with a progress bar.
- Pages read: pages read so far out of the pages selected, with the crawl state underneath: Starting, Finding pages, Reading pages, Speed checks, Complete, Stopped early or Could not finish.
- Could not be read: pages the crawl couldn't read.
- Issues found: technical issues found so far.
- Pages reviewed: pages reviewed the way a visitor sees them. Not shown on a Mini report.
Below these:
- The Report steps table lists each step with the agent doing it and its status: Done, Running or Waiting. Until the research starts it says "Steps appear here once the research starts."
- Early findings (by Lumen) lists up to 8 issues as they're found, with severity High, Medium or Low and how many pages each affects. Until the technical check finishes it says "Issues appear once the technical check finishes."
- Visitor review (by Weaver) appears once the visitor review step has reviewed pages.
The steps include Crawling the site, Testing speed on phones, Reviewing key pages as a visitor, Reading Search Console, Understanding the business, Finding the searches the site shows up for, Checking technical health and speed, Finding search competitors, Judging search demand, Reading the top Google results for each topic, Planning content, Writing the final report and Writing the prompts. Depth changes how much the report reads and writes. To meet the agents behind each step, see Meet the agents.
Other messages you may see
- A red notice that starts "Waiting for Search Console". It tells you to give Ivy Link access to your Search Console property or upload its export, then has the link Open Search Console settings. If your site has no Search Console data, the notice says to tell us on the intake form and the report runs on estimates. See Search Console.
- "Ivy Link needs to review this evaluation before it can continue." Our team is looking at it. You don't need to do anything.
- "Your report is being rebuilt at Standard depth. It appears here once Ivy Link releases it, at no charge to you." Your own depth shows in place of Standard. You don't need to do anything.
- "Your report was built in an older format this page can't show. Ivy Link will rebuild it for you at no charge."
- While a deeper report runs, a line such as "Your Mini report stays available while this one is built." links to your earlier report so you can keep reading it.
Once your report is released
The pill changes to Ready. The page now shows:
- The summary: the report's headline and a short summary.
- Who worked on this: the agents who worked on your report.
- Four numbers: Pages read (out of pages found), Could not be read, Actions and High impact.
- The Go deeper card (see Get a deeper report).
- The Actions table.
- Side panels: PageSpeed scores, Pages by section, Questions for you and What the report couldn't cover.
- The PageSpeed issues table.
A finished report is released to you automatically. If parts couldn't be finished, it still releases and says what's missing. On a live Enterprise site, an Ivy Link SEO expert checks the report first, then releases it to you. See Enterprise.
When it's released, every action in it is added to your backlog as a proposal. Nothing runs until your agents are on. See Turn agents on.
The Actions table
The heading shows how many actions there are, "in priority order". The columns are #, Action, Impact and Pages.
Click an action to expand it. You see:
- Who carries it out. With GitHub set up to ship pull requests: "Trellis builds this as a pull request on your repository." Otherwise: "Courier writes this as a prompt you can paste into your own tools." See GitHub.
- Because. Why it's on your list, when there's a reason to show.
- Finding. What the report found.
- What to do. The change to make.
- Why. Why it matters.
- Done when. How you'll know it's finished.
- Evidence: what the finding is based on.
- The pages it affects. Up to 12 are listed, then "and N more".
- The prompt, with a Copy prompt button.
PageSpeed scores and issues
PageSpeed scores shows your Speed, Accessibility, Best practices and SEO scores, as the median of the pages tested.
The PageSpeed issues table lists what Google PageSpeed Insights (mobile) flagged across the pages tested. The columns are Issue, Impact, Category, Pages and Saves (in seconds). Categories are Speed, Accessibility, Best practices, SEO and Agentic browsing. Click an issue to see a description, example pages and Copy prompt. If nothing turned up, it says "Lighthouse found nothing to fix on the pages tested."
Pages by section
Pages by section shows the top 8 sections of your site by pages read. For every page and what was found on it, open Site map.
What the report couldn't cover
This panel lists up to 12 gaps: parts the report couldn't finish or data it didn't have. If a gap is about Search Console, it has a Connect Search Console link. See Search Console.
Approve your first priorities
When the report is Ready, some actions carry a Priority mark. You pick which of them your agents should take on.
- In the Actions table, expand any action to read it.
- Tick the box beside the Priority actions you want. You can pick up to your depth's limit: 5 on Mini, 30 on Standard, 60 on Large.
- Press Approve priorities.
You'll see "Your selected work is approved and in your backlog." The chosen actions go to your backlog as approved work. Your site permissions still control what gets published. See Approve work and Settings.
You must pick at least one. The limit belongs to the report: buying a deeper report later doesn't raise the limit on an older one.
You approve priorities once per report. After that, the pill changes to Work approved and the checkboxes become switches.
Turn actions on or off
Once the pill reads Work approved, each action has an On/Off switch instead of a checkbox. The page says "Your agents work on the actions switched on. Switch one on to add it, or off to stop it."
- On: your agents work on it. You'll see "Switched on. Your agents will work on it." You can switch an action back on after turning it off.
- Off: your agents leave it alone. You'll see "Switched off. Your agents will leave it alone."
- In progress: an agent is building it now. No switch.
- Done: it has shipped. No switch.
Your priorities limit applies only to the first approval. There's no limit on how many actions you switch on.
Use an action's prompt yourself
Every action has a ready-to-use prompt. You can paste it into your own AI assistant or hand it to a developer.
- Expand the action and press Copy prompt.
- Paste it into your assistant. Do one prompt at a time.
To get every prompt at once, open Open the full written report and press Download all prompts. See below.
The full written report
Open the full written report opens https://app.ivyl.ink/report/full in a new tab. It's the complete report as one standalone page. It shows:
- A line with your domain and the report date, then the headline and summary.
- Number tiles, such as pages read in a browser, pages found, actions this month, pages reviewed from screenshots and your homepage's mobile speed score.
- Gaps in this report: what the report couldn't cover. A report that couldn't finish shows Why this report is incomplete instead.
- What to do, in order: one card per action, with its kind (for example Fix, Quick win, Win back or AI Overview), its impact, any actions to do first ("after #N"), what was found, what to do, why, the pages, and when it's done. Each card has Copy prompt and Show the prompt.
- What only you can tell us: the report's open questions.
Press Download all prompts to save one Markdown file named after your domain (for example example.com-prompts.md). It has every prompt in order, with an index of what to do first. Paste one prompt at a time, and do an action's "Do these first" actions before it.
If the report isn't out yet, the page shows Report unavailable: "Your written report appears here once Ivy Link releases it. Its progress is on the Report page." If it's being rebuilt, you see Report being rebuilt.
Answer the report's questions
Some things only you know, like which products matter most. The Questions for you panel lists up to 8 of them.
- Read each question.
- Press Answer by email. It opens an email to hello@ivyl.ink with the subject "Answers to my report questions".
- Write your answers and send it.
Get a deeper report
Once your report is released, the Go deeper card under the headline offers the depths above yours. For each one it shows:
- The price: +$N (only what your balance doesn't already cover) or In your balance.
- Its pages, PageSpeed tested pages, competitors and searches. Large also includes a data asset plan.
- How many priorities you can approve from it.
| Depth | Pages | PageSpeed tested | Competitors | Searches | Priorities to approve | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mini | 50 | 50 | 1 | 150 | 5 | 10 credits ($10) |
| Standard | 400 | 500 | 6 | 1,000 | 30 | 60 credits ($60) |
| Large | 1,000 | 5,000 | 10 | 2,500 | 60 | 120 credits ($120) |
To start one:
- Pick the depth you want.
- If you need to pay, press Get Standard or Get Large. With a saved card, a payment dialog opens ("Your deeper report starts right away."). Otherwise you go to a checkout page.
- If your balance already covers it, press Start Standard report or Start Large report.
You'll see "Your deeper report is queued." While it runs, your earlier report stays readable, your approved work stays in your backlog, and your agents keep working. The new report gives you new priorities to approve. The card only offers depths above your current one, and it appears only once your current report is released.
Messages you may see when paying:
- "Payment received. This page updates when your credits land." The deeper report starts on its own once they do.
- "Credits added. Start your deeper report from the Go deeper card above."
- "Checkout canceled. Nothing was charged."
- "Your card was declined, so nothing was charged. Try again, or use a different card."
- If the payment service doesn't respond, the page says nothing was charged. Try again in a minute.
For more on depths and pricing, see Report depths and Credits.
On an account that isn't billed, or on Enterprise, the card is called Run a new report instead. It offers every depth, marked Free on this account or Paid by Ivy Link. It reads your site again at the depth you pick, and your approved work stays. Press Run Mini report, Run Standard report or Run Large report.
Older reports
If you had a report before the current Report page, it may be at https://app.ivyl.ink/reports/<your-domain>. It's private to your account. If there isn't one, the page shows Report not found: "There is no report for this site yet."
