Home
What the Home page shows: whether your agents are on, your budget and credits, what's running, what needs you, the week ahead and recent work.
Home is the first page in the sidebar, at app.ivyl.ink. It answers four questions: what your agents are doing now, what needs you, what's planned for the next 7 days, and what got done lately.
When you see Home
Home opens once your site's onboarding has started. That means one of these has happened:
- You ordered a report (it can still be building).
- You skipped the report. On a self-serve site, skipping also starts your agents with the budget you picked. On Enterprise, skipping leaves your agents as they were.
- You turned your agents on.
Until then, going to Home takes you to onboarding instead. A new account always starts there. See Sign up and sign in and Your first report.
When you sign in, Ivy Link sends you to onboarding if it hasn't started, and to Home if it has.
Notices after onboarding
Two notices can show at the top of Home, right after you finish onboarding:
| How you got here | Notice |
|---|---|
| You turned agents on, or skipped the report and started agents with a budget | "Your agents have started. First they get to know your site; you can build a report any time from Report." |
| You skipped the report on an Enterprise site and your agents are off | "Report skipped. Your agents are off until you turn them on in Settings; you can build a report any time from Report." |
They show once, on that visit. You don't need to do anything about them.
The ?welcome=1 address
After checkout, you may land on Home with ?welcome=1 at the end of the address. Home looks the same with or without it. A brand-new account goes to onboarding first, so most people never see it.
The top of the page
The top shows your site's address in small type, then the heading Home.
The status line
Under the heading is one line that sums up your agents and your money.
Agents pill
| Pill | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Agents on | Your agents are working on their schedule. | Nothing. |
| Agents off | Nothing new starts and nothing new is spent. | Pick a plan in Settings. See Turn agents on. |
| Agents paused | Agents are on, but your balance can't cover the next job. | Add credits on Billing. They start again on their own. |
On an Enterprise site, Agents off comes with a Turn on link instead of a plan to pick, and agents never pause for balance. See the Enterprise section below and Enterprise.
Budget (self-serve plans)
Next to the pill you see your budget in words:
- With agents on: Budget: followed by your plan, how much work it does, and its credits. For example, "Budget: Sprout · Standard work · 30 credits a month", or "Budget: Custom · High work · 5 credits a day" for a custom budget.
- With agents off: Budget: none, agents off.
The Change budget link opens the agents section of Settings. See Budgets.
Balance
Then your balance, as "N credits left", rounded to one decimal place. The Top up link opens Billing ready to add credits. See Credits.
If your account isn't billed, this spot says Not billed instead, with no Top up link.
Enterprise
On an Enterprise site the line is different:
- The pill (Agents on or Agents off). Ivy Link pays, so the balance never pauses agents.
- Canopy (Enterprise) instead of a budget, with a Turn on link when agents are off.
- Paid by Ivy Link instead of a balance. There's no Change budget or Top up link, because Ivy Link pays for the work.
See Enterprise.
Now
Now shows what's happening at this moment. It lists up to 5 jobs that are running or queued.
Each job shows the agent's mascot and name, then either · working (running) or · up next (queued). Under that is what the job is:
- When the job builds a fix you approved: "Fixing:
" while it runs, or "Next fix: " while it waits. - Otherwise, the kind of work, like "The technical review", "The keyword check-in" or "Sorting new findings into fixes".
Click the agent's mascot or name to open its conversation on Agents. See The Agents page and Meet the agents.
Getting to know your site
Right after agents first turn on, Now shows Getting to know your site with this text: "Agents are getting to know your site: crawling it, testing its pages in PageSpeed, working out what you sell and researching your searches. Regular checks and reviews start after that."
This is normal. Regular checks and reviews start once it's done.
Waiting
When work is held up, Now shows Waiting with the reason. Examples:
- "Agents are paused: your balance is X credits and this job needs about Y. They start again when credits are added." Add credits on Billing. If auto top-up is on, Ivy Link tries that first.
- "The budget is paced for now; more work starts in about 5 hours." or "The budget is used for now; this job starts in about 2 days." Your budget spreads work over time, so this is normal. Work picks up again on its own. To speed it up, raise your budget in Settings.
- "This work needs a budget of at least 100 credits a month." Some work only runs on a budget of 100 credits a month or more.
- "Agent work waits while Ivy Link tops up a data provider."
- "Agent work is paused while Ivy Link checks something."
The last two are on Ivy Link's side. You don't need to do anything.
When Now is empty
| State | What Now says |
|---|---|
| Agents on, nothing running | "Nothing is running right now. The next job starts on schedule, below." |
| Agents off (self-serve) | "Agents are off, so nothing runs and nothing is spent." with a Pick a plan to start them link |
| Agents off (Enterprise) | "Agents are off, so nothing runs and nothing is spent." with a Turn them on link |
Both links open the agents section of Settings.
Needs you
Needs you lists the things only you can move forward: up to 4 items, plus the paused item when agents are paused. Each item has a pill saying what kind of thing it is, and a link that takes you to it.
| Pill | Item | Where the link goes |
|---|---|---|
| Add credits | "Agents are paused until the balance covers the next job" | Billing |
| Your report | "Your report’s actions are waiting for your OK" | Report |
| Agents | "Pick a plan to start your agents" (agents off and you've never set a budget) | Settings |
| Agents | "Turn on your agents: Canopy, paid by Ivy Link" (Enterprise, agents off) | Settings |
| Approve | An idea waiting for your approval, by its title | That idea on Approvals |
| Paste a prompt | An approved change written as a prompt for you to paste, by its title | That prompt on Results |
| Review a change | A pull request waiting for you to merge, by its title | That pull request on Results |
The paused item always comes first. After the report, plan and Enterprise items, Home shows at most 3 ideas, prompts and pull requests combined, ideas first. The full lists are on Approvals and Results. See Approvals, Results, Report and Billing.
Some things don't show here:
- Ideas you've let agents start without asking.
- Pull requests Ivy Link is merging for you.
- On Enterprise, agents' ideas your SEO expert is still checking. They show once the expert passes them on.
When there's nothing for you, it says: "Nothing right now. New work to approve shows up here."
For how to act on each item, see Approve work and Ship changes.
This week
This week lists the work scheduled for the next 7 days. Each line shows when, the agent's mascot and name, and what it will do.
Ongoing or unscheduled work comes first, with a label instead of a date:
| Label | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Under way | Running now | "Lumen is crawling the whole site" |
| First | Happens before anything else | "Sage gets to know your site: its pages, speed, business and searches" |
| Next | Starts as soon as the budget allows | "Trellis builds the 2 approved fixes as pull requests" |
| Daily | Every day | "Scout checks Search Console and your pages each morning and sorts anything new into fixes" |
| As needed | Only when something changes | "Pip checks in between reviews, on days something they watch changes" |
Dated work follows, in order, with the day and a time in UTC. Examples:
- Sage's reviews: technical, keywords, content, or your datasets, on your plan's schedule. If reviews run every day, they show as one Daily line instead.
- Lumen crawling the whole site, or running Lighthouse on your key pages, every week, every two weeks or every month depending on your plan.
- Pip measuring a change you shipped, 7 days and 28 days after it shipped.
Weaver's design reviews and Echo's ranking checks will show here once those agents join your team. See Meet the agents.
Root also shows as Daily when it applies: it sends your changed sitemaps to Google and tells search engines about pages that changed, every hour.
What appears depends on your plan, your budget, and what you've connected. For example, Scout only says "Search Console and your pages" once Search Console is connected.
When agents are off
Nothing else is scheduled, but Pip still measures work that already shipped.
- If a measurement is due this week, the list shows it under: "Agents are off, so nothing else is scheduled. Pip still measures the work that shipped."
- If nothing is due, it says: "Nothing is scheduled while agents are off. With them on, they check the site every day and review it on your plan’s schedule."
Done lately
Done lately shows up to 5 recent results, newest first. Each shows the agent, the date and time in your own time zone, and what happened. Results include:
- A pull request opened ("Opened a pull request: …").
- A prompt written for you to paste ("Prompt ready to copy: …").
- A change measured.
- A job finished, like "Finished the technical review."
- An agent's summary of a finished job.
- On Enterprise, a note from your SEO expert.
Steps along the way, new ideas and merged pull requests aren't listed here. They're on Agents and Results.
When a line links somewhere, click it to see the work. When an agent did the same thing several times, Home folds the repeats into one line that says how many times and since when, like "Finished the technical review (4 times since Oct 24)." Lines with links are never folded.
Before anything is done, it says: "Nothing yet. What agents finish shows up here."
Two buttons sit under the list:
What to do from here
- Check the pill. If it says Agents off, pick a plan in Settings (on Enterprise, click Turn on). If it says Agents paused, add credits on Billing.
- Work through Needs you. Each item takes one click to reach.
- Glance at This week to see what's coming and when.
- Open Done lately items to see what shipped. For results and measurements, see Results.
New accounts and empty states
A new site that has just turned agents on usually looks like this:
- Pill: Agents on, with your plan and balance.
- Now: Getting to know your site.
- Needs you: "Nothing right now. New work to approve shows up here.", or your report's actions if your report is out.
- This week: First, Sage gets to know your site, plus Scout's daily checks.
- Done lately: "Nothing yet. What agents finish shows up here."
A site whose agents are off (for example, you turned them off in Settings) looks like this:
- Pill: Agents off, with Budget: none, agents off.
- Now: "Agents are off, so nothing runs and nothing is spent." with Pick a plan to start them.
- Needs you: Agents, "Pick a plan to start your agents".
- This week: "Nothing is scheduled while agents are off…"
An Enterprise site with agents off shows Canopy (Enterprise) with a Turn on link in the pill, and Now says "Agents are off, so nothing runs and nothing is spent." with Turn them on. It has no Budget: none and no Pick a plan.
Turning agents off stops new work and spending. A job already under way still finishes, and its cost comes from your balance. Pip's measurements of work that already shipped still run.
