Documentation · Getting started
Sign up and sign in
Create your Ivy Link account, pay on Stripe, get signed in, and sign in again later with an emailed link.
Before you start
You need two things:
- A work email address. This is how you sign in. There is no password.
- Your website's address, like
yoursite.com.
Ivy Link doesn't ask for your name or company. Stripe asks for the cardholder name when you pay.
Already have an account? Don't sign up again. Sign in, then add a site or buy credits from inside the app. See Sites and Credits.
- Go to ivyl.ink/signup. The page is titled Start Ivy Link.
- Enter your Work email.
- Enter your Website. You can leave off
https://; it is added for you. - Click Continue to payment - $10. The button changes to Opening checkout… while Stripe loads.
- Pay on Stripe Checkout.
- Stripe sends you back to Ivy Link and you are signed in. See After you pay.
By continuing you agree to the Terms.
What the $10 buys
With no plan picked, signup costs $10 for 10 credits. One credit is one dollar. This is a one-time payment for prepaid credits, not a subscription. Your credits pay for your first report and for your agents' work. See Credits and Report depths.
Stripe saves your card so you can turn on auto top-up later. Auto top-up is optional and off until you turn it on.
30-day full refund. If Ivy Link isn't right for you, email hello@ivyl.ink from the address you signed up with within 30 days of your first payment. See Cancel and refunds.
Signing up from the pricing page
On /pricing, each plan card has a start button named after the plan, like Start with Climb. The plan suggested for your site's size, above the cards, and the Custom budget use Start with this budget. Each one opens the signup page with that budget filled in. Two things change:
- The amount. You pay the plan's monthly budget today, in credits. The amount is never less than $10 or more than $500. For example, Climb (100 credits a month) costs $100 today for 100 credits. A custom budget of 2,000 credits a month costs $500 today.
- A plan line appears above the form. It reads: "Your Climb budget lets agents spend up to 100 credits a month; they pause when credits run out unless auto top-up is on. Your first report comes out of these credits too." The name is Seedling, Sprout, Climb or Canopy, or "custom" for any other number.
| Plan | Monthly budget | You pay at signup |
|---|---|---|
| Seedling | 10 credits | $10 |
| Sprout | 30 credits | $30 |
| Climb | 100 credits | $100 |
| Canopy | 300 credits | $300 |
| Custom | Your number | That number, from $10 to $500 |
The budget is saved on your account once you've paid. Your agents stay off after signup. They start when you skip the report and start agents during setup, or when you turn them on in Settings. See Budgets and Turn agents on.
Signing up for Enterprise
Enterprise is $1,000 a month for one site. An SEO expert checks your agents' work before it reaches you, and Ivy Link pays for the site's agent work and reports. See Enterprise.
- On /pricing, click Start Enterprise. The signup page opens in its Enterprise form.
- Check that it shows $1,000 a month for this site and the steps Create your account, Enterprise starts on your site and Your SEO expert steps in.
- Enter your Work email and Website.
- Click Continue to payment - $1,000 a month.
- Pay on Stripe. This is a subscription: $1,000 today, then monthly. You can cancel any time.
When you come back from Stripe, Enterprise starts on that site. Your agents run on Canopy once you turn them on, and Ivy Link pays for their work.
If your email already has an Ivy Link account, the form stops you with: "You already have an Ivy Link account with this email. Sign in at app.ivyl.ink and switch a site to Enterprise from Settings." Do that instead. See Settings.

On Stripe Checkout
Stripe's page shows a line item Ivy Link credits for your site, at your signup amount. Under the pay button it says your dollars become the same number of credits, and that the 30-day money-back guarantee still applies.
For Enterprise, Stripe shows a monthly subscription. Under the pay button it says: "$1,000 a month for yoursite.com. An SEO expert checks your agents' work, and Ivy Link pays for this site's agent work and reports. Cancel any time."
If you closed checkout
If you leave Stripe before paying, or click its back link, you return to the signup page. It says:
Checkout closed before payment, so you haven't been charged. Your details are still filled in below.
Nothing was charged. Your email and website are filled in again, and a budget or Enterprise choice from the pricing page is kept. Click the payment button to try again.
If you closed the tab instead, nothing was charged either. Go back to ivyl.ink/signup and start again.
After you pay
Stripe sends you to app.ivyl.ink/start. This page signs you in as soon as Stripe confirms your payment.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Confirming your payment — "This usually takes a few seconds." | Stripe hasn't confirmed yet. The page reloads itself every 2 seconds, for about 30 seconds. | Wait. |
| Welcome to Ivy Link — "Stripe hasn't confirmed your payment yet. Refresh this page in a minute, or email hello@ivyl.ink." | Confirmation is taking longer than usual. | Refresh the page in a minute. If it still shows this, email hello@ivyl.ink. |
| Welcome to Ivy Link — "Your payment went through. The email you used already has an Ivy Link account, so sign in with a link sent to it." | Your payment worked, but that email already belongs to an account, so you aren't signed in automatically. | Click Sign in and use an emailed link. If the new site or credits aren't in your account, email hello@ivyl.ink. |
| Welcome to Ivy Link — "Sign in with the email you used at checkout to get to your dashboard." | This return link can't sign you in. It only works once, and only within 2 days of signing up. | Click Sign in and use the email you paid with. |
Once you're signed in, you go straight to setup: Build your first report. See Your first report. If you were already signed in on this browser, you skip the waiting and go straight in.
You also get a welcome email from hello@ivyl.ink, usually within a few minutes. See Emails.
Ivy Link has no passwords. You sign in with a link sent to your email. There is no other way to sign in.
- Go to app.ivyl.ink/signin.
- Enter the email you signed up with in Email.
- Click Email me a sign-in link.
- Open the email Sign in to Ivy Link on the device you want to use.
- Click the link. A page titled Sign in to Ivy Link opens.
- Click Sign in.
You stay signed in on that device for 30 days. You land on setup if you haven't finished it yet, and on Home otherwise.
Each link works once and expires after 20 minutes.
The Check your email page looks the same whether or not the address has an account. If no email arrives, check your spam folder, then check you typed the address you signed up with.
New to Ivy Link? The sign-in page links to Get started, which opens the signup page.
