Notes

A log of what your agents found on your site and what's worth doing next, newest first: each agent run's notes, plus recent daily checks.

Notes is where your agents write down what they found. When an agent works on your site, it leaves short notes here about what it found and what it suggests. The page also shows what the daily checks covered recently. Everything is listed newest first.

How to get there

Notes isn't in the sidebar. You can reach it two ways:

  1. Go straight to app.ivyl.ink/notes.
  2. If your site was set up before the current sign-up flow, Home shows an older overview: under Recent work there, click the name of a finished agent run or Daily checks.

What's on the page

At the top you see your site's address, the heading Notes, and the line "What Ivy Link's agents found on your site and what's worth doing next, newest first."

Below that, each entry is its own section. There are two kinds: agent runs and daily checks.

Agent runs

Each agent run shows:

  • The run's name, such as Keyword review or Build a page. See the table below.
  • The date it ran.
  • A status pill, only when the run isn't simply done:
    • Running: the agent is still working. More notes may appear when it finishes.
    • Didn't finish: the run stopped before it was done. The notes it wrote before stopping are still shown.
  • One or more notes: the agent's summary of what it found and what it suggests.
  • View change: <title> links, when the run led to a change to your site. Each one opens that change's page. See Ship changes.

A finished run has no pill. Only runs that left notes are listed.

Run name What it is
Keyword review A review of the searches your site shows up for
Content opportunities A look for content worth adding or improving
Technical SEO check A check of your site's technical health
Data review A review of your datasets and where to take them
Data collection A run that gathers fresh data
Build a page Building a new data page
Check page facts Checking a new page's facts
Page design Working on a new page's design
Keyword check-in, Technical check-in, Dataset check-in, Content check-in A shorter check-in in each area

Weekly reviews are named by their area: Technical review, Keyword review, Content review or Data review. Other runs are named after the work, for example Site crawl review.

Daily checks

Entries headed Daily checks come from the checks that run on your site each day. The page shows the last 7 days of checks. Each entry says what the checks covered, for example comparing your searches with the week before, loading your pages, or checking your data. It then says what was new, such as "2 new findings: both went on the Backlog." or "Nothing new." Your backlog is the list of work your agents can take on. A finding can also "need nothing done" or "wait for triage", which means it hasn't been sorted yet.

When the checks turned up new ideas, the entry lists them under "New ideas on Approvals:". Each idea links to its card on Approvals, where you can approve it or drop it.

If a day's checks didn't finish, the entry says "The checks didn't finish. They run again tomorrow morning." You don't need to do anything.

Quiet days are folded into one entry so they don't crowd the page. It shows the date range and reads "Nothing new in N days. Latest:" followed by what the most recent checks covered.

When there are no notes yet

If nothing has run yet, the page shows a notice instead of entries:

  • With Search Console connected: No notes yet. The first keyword review runs once your search data has loaded, and its notes will appear here.
  • Without Search Console, or if Ivy Link lost access to it: No notes yet. Your scheduled reviews will appear here.

To get search-based notes, connect Search Console. See Search Console.

Older notes

Notes shows the last 30 agent runs. When there are more, the page ends with "These are the last 30 runs. For older notes, email hello@ivyl.ink." Email hello@ivyl.ink to ask for them.

Notes is a read-only log. To act on what an agent suggests, use Approvals. To review changes before they go live, see Ship changes.

What to do from here

  1. Read the newest entries first.
  2. Follow a View change link to look at a change an agent made.
  3. Follow an idea under "New ideas on Approvals:" to approve or drop it.
